Roles and high positions once occupied by men especially in politics and governance are now invaded by women.  Women presidents, senators, governors, mayors, executive directors, presidents of huge companies, pilots, and many more that makes the list endless.  It is now a well accepted environment to have women as superiors in the workplace and have men under them.  Leadership is not measured by gender but by how much capability one possesses to cope up with the demand of the position.  One such woman is Sandi Vito who was appointed Secretary of Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.

Facing so much financial and workforce challenges when he assumed office as Governor of Pennsylvania, Edward G. Rendell, recognized Sandi Vito’s potential to initiate change and ignite the enthusiasm needed to get everyone involved.  True to his gut feeling, she has proven to be the right person to do the job.  Programs for education and skill enhancements were provided, funds were diverted to where they can give the most benefits, research and investigations were conducted to see which gear to change to get the right direction they were aiming for.  All these led to economic growth, competitive and skilled workers and a new height for wages across the state.

A woman’s intuition coupled with common sense, wit, dedication and focus can contribute to realize a goal that may seem impossible to achieve.  Sandi Vito possessed these and many other exceptional qualities that are unique to a woman.
